Homemade Chili con Carne
A generous, spicy chili con carne: ground beef simmered with red beans, tomatoes, corn and a warming spice blend. Budget-friendly and even better reheated, it's the ideal dish to share, served with rice or tortillas.
Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 400 g cooked red kidney beans
- 400 g chopped tomatoes
- 150 g corn
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 red pepper
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 pinch chilli
- Oil, salt, pepper
Method
- 1Saute the onion, garlic and pepper in the oil over medium heat.
- 2Add the ground beef and brown it.
- 3Stir in the spices and toast for 1 minute.
- 4Pour in the tomatoes, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
- 5Add the beans and corn, continue for 10 minutes.
- 6Adjust seasoning and serve with rice.
